You may have read in the news recently that the bee population is being decimated by some unknown factor which, some scientists have said, may be due to the interference of Mobile Phone signals with the bees homing instinct but also due to attacks by ants. Bees are vital to the whole plant, tree, vegetable and flower populations of the whole world and as such play a vital role in the insemination of so may species.
Apart from that, bee keeping is a great hobby from which you get a wonderful harvest of honey which you may just use for your personal use or expand it to a small business not only selling the delicious home made honey but to go on and make beeswax candles, which not only sell at premium prices, but also give a beautiful aroma in the home. So you´re probably asking yourself how easy is it to keep bees?? – well, I asked the same questions. Like most people I went to the Internet and spent a lot of time researching the subject and looking for resources that would help me. (I live in a wonderful valley that is chock full of almond trees which bees not only love but from which they produce the most heavenly honey!)

This eBook written by Keith Gilbert, a veteran beekeeper is, as the title states, a Step by Step Guide to Beekeeping for the absolute beginner, however, due to it´s comprehensive nature it is also suitable for the more experienced beekeeper who is still looking to solve problems. I still use this as a constant reference because it covers virtually every subject that you are likely to come across in your beekeeping career or hobby.
The thing I particularly liked in the ebook was that even if you are a complete and utter novice and know nothing whatsoever about beekeeping (like I was!) then by the time you have read through the contents you will know exactly what to do, where to start, what you need and what actions you have to take. You are literally led by the hand through the whole process of what time of year to start, what type of hive, where to site it, what and where to buy bees, what and what not to wear and a hundred other invaluable tips that will allow you to harvest your precious honey.

BEEKEEPING 101

Beekeeping 101 was the first book that I actually purchased as it was almost the first ebook that I found. Although it does contain a lot of information for the beginner and expert alike, there are some holes that were not filled, especially for me as I was a complete novice. It did start me off and as I began to plan my new venture and was beginning to look at what was needed and the correct way to start from the beginning I felt that it was lacking in certain areas. I don´t think you would regret investing in this ebook as it certainly contains good information but I found that as I began to understand the processes involved I needed more information in order to make qualified decisions and not waste any time and money. Because of this I began to look at other available publications and ended up purchasing my Five Star recommendation. The ebook does come with two bonuses as well, “The Nutritional Benefits of Honey” and “Honey Extraction Methods”

	I was very disappointed with this edition and this is probably reflected in the price which is the cheapest on offer. It´s very light in content and does not cover all the issues which will confront a beginner. In all honesty, for the few dollars more that you will pay for the other two books, I wouldn´t even consider this publication and do not consider it worth its price anyway.
